Malú, la yaguareté uruguaya, finalizó el periodo de cuarentena y ya se encuentra en su recinto en el corazón del Parque Iberá.

Malú nació y se crió en cautiverio por lo que no podrá ser liberada, pero esperamos que en el  Centro de Reintroducción de Yaguareté (CRY) pueda reproducirse para que sus crías se sumen a los 8 yaguaretés que ya viven libres en el Parque Iberá.  

Gracias al trabajo en conjunto con el gobierno de Uruguay y con la  Estación de Cría de Fauna Autóctona “Uruguay Tabaré González Sierra” de Piriápolis, el proyecto para reintroducir al yaguareté en el Iberá cuenta con un nuevo integrante. 

Malú y Uruguay hacen su aporte para que Iberá sea un ambiente cada vez más sano, completo y vibrante.

MALÚ ARRIVES AT IBERÁ PARK

Malú, the Uruguayan jaguar, finished her quarantine period and is settling into her enclosure located in the heart of Iberá Park.

Malú is captive-bred, so she cannot be set free, nonetheless we expect that she will breed in the Jaguar Reintroduction Centre, and that her cubs will join the 8 jaguars released in the wild.

Thanks to a joint collaboration with the government of Uruguay and the Tabaré González Sierra Local Wildlife Breeding Station, located in Piriápolis, a new member has entered the jaguar reintroduction project. 

Malú and Uruguay contribute in making Iberá a more healthy, complete and vibrant environment.
